She was predeceased by: her parents, Jasper Shortbear and Cora Bad; her pet Chiquita; her grandchildren, Alisha, Nicholas, Leo Jr., Lanissa, Tanisha, Michaela, Cyrisha, Ricardo, Joseph, Janessa, Janeane, Aaron, Cheri, Jeremy and Jason; her daughter Julie Labrake; her husband Hugh Swanson; her children, Robert Whitelight, Anthony LeVassur, Tammy Padron and Donita Smalling; her significant other Harold Vondall; and her siblings, Wanda Shortbear-Estes (Mickey), Maria Sexton and Leroy Shortbear (Maka).
She is survived by: her children, Kelly Swanson, Cherie Cruz, Jeffrey Swanson (Anne Marie Swanson), Loraine, Grace and Hunka; her grandchildren, Julie Labrake and Jeff Lippencott; and her sisters, Ramona Taylor and Bernetta Traversie. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and countless nieces and nephews.
