The family announces the passing of Jeff Gilbert of Hitchcock, South Dakota on September 1, 2026. Jeff, born on December 26, 1975, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Vance, Ida Hemen, Harold and Lucille Gilbert; his uncle Charles Gilbert; his aunt Delores Gilbert; his father-in-law Dale Koch; and his brothers-in-law, Jim and Donnie Koch.

He is survived by: his parents, Jerry Gilbert and Kathy Gilbert (Hemen) of Hitchcock, SD; his wife Ann Koch; his children, Sam (Shelby Jones) of Clark, SD, Claire (Jarred Ketchum) of Wolsey, SD and Lizzie of Mitchell, SD; and his brothers, Andrew Gilbert (Becca) of Brandon, SD and Tim Gilbert (Sarah) of Gilbert, AZ. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish (425 21st St SW, Huron, SD 57350). A rosary was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at the St. Martin Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Holy Trinity Catholic School.
