It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Valorie K. Hlavka of Howes, South Dakota, who passed away on November 15, 2025, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Doug Hlavka; her son Jade (Annie Hlavka); her granddaughter Leann; her daughter-in-law Annie; her grandmother Val; her daughter Leann Hlavka; her grandsons, Waylon, Zeke and Briggs Hlavka; her siblings, Gary and Charmagne Lightfield; her sisters-in-law, Jeanny Hlavka and Janet Hlavka; her parents, Robert William and Earleen Elizabeth Price (Schuelke); her in-laws, John Robert and Marion Lucille Hlavka (Overacker); her brother-in-law James E. Lightfield; and her grandparents, Florence Price, Elizabeth Schuelke, Gladys Hlavka, Alice Overacker, Robert Price, Albert Schuelke, Jack Hlavka and Jesse Overacker.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel (1235 Junction Ave, Sturgis, SD 57785). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Central Meade County Community Center (19167 Ball Field Rd, Union Center, SD 57787). A burial will be held on Monday, November 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Plainview Cemetery (19753 SD-34, Howes, SD 57748).
In remembrance of Valorie's life and love, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Shriners of Rapid City or the Enning Ambulance.
