It is with sadness that the passing of Daryl Wasmund of Huron, South Dakota is shared. Daryl, born on October 28, 1943 in Worthington, Minnesota, passed away on August 17, 2026. He was predeceased by: his parents, Sievert Wasmund (Viola Wasmund) and Viola Wasmund (Winter); his wife Carolyn Wasmund; and his sister Ellen. He is survived by: his children, Breck Wasmund (Karen) of Sibley, IA, Michael Wasmund of Huron, SD and Jennifer Kruger of Waukee, IA.; his children-in-law, Patricia Evenson of Red Wing, MN, Beth Kreykes of Sibley, IA and Shaun Kruger of West Liberty, IA; his grandchildren, Abby Coufal (Brett), Ally Jensen (Brian), Lindsey DeDecker (Kyle), Jacob Kruger (Natlija), Alexa Schaffhausen (Andrew), Alyssa Levan (Drew) and Chase Wasmund; and his siblings, Bob, Kathy, Connie and Jeannette. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 20th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Welter Funeral Home (267 3rd St SE, Huron, SD 57350). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
