He was predeceased by: his parents, Fredrick T. Grohs and Rose M. Grohs (Weber); his wife Lela Mae; and his brothers, Wilfred, Herbert, Victor, Jerome, Ralph and Paul.
He is survived by: his children, Janet Bockorny (Jerry) of Huron, Keith Grohs (Jerolyn) of Georgetown, TX, Susan SoRelle (Bruce) of Arlington, TX, Terry Grohs (Kathy) of Omaha, NE, Beth Grohs of Huron, Eileen Wedel (Gary) of Mitchell, Kelly Grohs (Joan) of Aberdeen and Peggy Tschetter (Kevin) of Huron; his siblings, Marie Reindl of Wessington Springs, Deloris Fuegen of Wessington Springs and Leroy Grohs (Judy) of Rapid City; and his sister-in-law Donna Satter of Wessington Springs. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Welter Funeral Home (267 3rd St SE, Huron, SD 57350). A prayer was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish (425 21st St SW, Huron, SD 57350). A burial was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at the St. Martin Cemetery.
