Ione Ferguson Obituary
We bid farewell to Ione Ferguson of Huron, South Dakota, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 23, 2025 at the age of 94. Ione touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Johnson and Elsie Johnson (Johnson); her husband Floyd; her sisters, Phyllis Weber, Nadine Meyers, Carol Auer and Pam Harman; her son-in-law Frank Schlueter; and her grandson Gary Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Larry Ferguson of Huron, Kathy Schlueter of Huron and David Ferguson (Pam) of Huron; her siblings, Roxanne Cooper (William), Sonja Nonnast (Eugene) and John Johnson (Roxie); and her stepmother Thelma Johnson of Whitewood, SD.. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Welter Funeral Home (267 3rd St SE, Huron, SD 57350). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the American Lutheran Church (155 4th St SE, Huron, SD 57350). A burial will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery (21453 SD-37, Huron, SD 57350).
