He was predeceased by: his parents, Ann (Elmer Fischer) and Joel; and his brother Jeff. He is survived by: his friend Joel; his sister Robin Zeisler (Jim) of Renner, SD; his nieces and nephews, Heather Doran (Josh) of Buena Vista, CO and Logan Zeisler (Megan) of Bennington, NE; his sister-in-law Nancy Fischer of Lincoln, NE; his great-niece Tinley Doran; and his great-nephew Lars Zeisler.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church and the Beadle County Humane Society.
