He was predeceased by : his parents, Marvin William and Allie Mae Barnette (Lindsey); his brothers, Wayne Marvin Barnette and Johnny "Milburn" Barnette; and his granddaughter Jessica Barnette.

He is survived by : his wife Patricia Karen Barnette (Bauer); his children, Anthony Barnette (Jackie), Shelley McDowell (Dennis) and Kerry Schumacher (Jason); his grandchildren, Dia Pokos (Galacia), Rachael Barnette and Derek Barnette; and his brother Billie Walter Barnette (Bobbie Jo).

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 1st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Huron Regional Medical Center (172 4th St SE, Huron, SD 57350).
