He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Burckhartzmeyer and Erma Burckhartzmeyer (Lahr); his sister Angela Burgard; his brothers-in-law, Robert Coyle, Art White and Arnie Bain; his in-laws, Frank and Frances Heil; and his siblings-in-law, Ronald Heil, Dennis Heil, Gerald Heil and Barbara Heil.
He is survived by: his son Brian Robert Burckhartzmeyer (Susan) of Orient; his wife Darlene Ann Heil of Huron; his son Ron Burckhartzmeyer (Paula) of Broken Arrow; his grandchildren, Trevor, Nate, Gracelynn and Kaitlyn; his siblings, Donna Bain of Sioux Falls, Marjorie White of Sioux Falls, Marilyn Coyle of Aberdeen, Shirley Jacobs (Robert) of Aberdeen, Betty Oliver (Jim) of Groton and Jerry Burckhartzmeyer (Cheri) of Edwards, Illinois; and his brother-in-law Kenneth Heil (Toni) of Mobridge. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
