He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Carlson and Ida Carlson (Anderson); his wives, Mary Carlson and Carolyn Carlson; his mother-in-law Theresa Brookshire; and his siblings-in-law, James Brookshire, Robert Brookshire, John Gilmore and Betty Brookshire.
He is survived by: his children, Kevin Carlson (Sheila), Krislyn Carlson of Beresford, SD, Greg Verly (Marla) of Ruthton, MN and David Verly (Zhenya) of Redding, CA; his grandchildren, Preston Carlson and Stella Carlson; his children, Ashley Verly of Ruthton, MN and Brandon Verly of Dell Rapids, SD; his brothers, David Carlson (Joyce) of Erwin, SD and Jim Carlson (Lona) of Winfred, SD; and his sisters-in-law, Shirley Gilmore of Golden, CO and Linda Nicholas of West Bloomfield, MI. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
