He is survived by: his daughter Kathy Luze (Todd) of Lead; his grandchildren, Amanda Morrison (Kyle), Miranda Brown (Jon), Tammy Brown (Paul) and Sean Knittle; his great grandchildren, Aubree Morrison, Emilie Morrison, Wesley Morrison, Alyssa Roberson, Brayden Andrew Stevens, Desert Starr Halbert, Triston Rudolph Knittle and Jennifer Groves; his great great grandchild A. J. Scheffelman; and his siblings, Barbara Grimes, Arthur Hudson (Julia), Mary-Ann Grimes and Larry Hudson.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the First Baptist Church (110 Sherman St, Deadwood, SD 57732). A reception was held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. The inurnment was held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Black Hills National Cemetery (20901 Pleasant Valley Dr, Sturgis, SD 57785).
