He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Bockel and Agnes Van Bockel (Heimstra); his wife Georgia Millar; his siblings, Marian Waddell, Vernon Van Bockel, Elda Scheller, Jetta LeDuc and JoAnn Tennant; his niece Joy Scheller; and his nephews, Keith Van Bockel, Joe and John Scheller.
He is survived by: his son Raymond Jr. (Dianne); his granddaughters, Valerie Pryor (Tom) of Lincoln, NE and Vanesa Hall (Peter) of Gettysburg; his great grandchildren, Harper of Georgia, Camden Pryor of Lincoln, NE, Henry Robert and Felix Hall of Gettysburg; his siblings-in-law, Dave LeDuc, Ellis Miller (Patty) and June Bentz; and his nieces and nephews, Carol Duncan, Patti Weber, Twyla Nordquist, Donna Plank, Wade, Kelly, Michael, Andy LeDuc, Terry and Doug Tennant.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 6:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Grace Bible Church (310 S Broadway St, Gettysburg, SD 57442). A prayer will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
