He was predeceased by : his parents, Floyd Bastemeyer and Elva Bastemeyer (Temple); his stepfather Edwin Weeldreyer; and his brother Robert Bastemeyer. He is survived by : his wife Melissa; his daughters, Danese Johannsen, Dawn Bastemeyer-Davis (Lee) and Donna Bastemeyer; his grandchildren, Kyla (Jake), Dylan, Rylie, Lyllie, Tharen, Braylen and Stella; and his sister Robin Andraesek (Terry DeBoer).
