Verlyn Hofer Obituary
With solemn reverence, we commemorate Verlyn Hofer of Lennox, South Dakota, whose life came to an end on May 30, 2025 at the age of 99, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Hofer and Cora Hofer (Ulberg); his wife Mary Ann Hofer (Ness); his son David Hofer; and his sister Vivian Renz.
He is survived by: his children, Doug Hofer (Carolyn) of Pierre, Bill Hofer (Holly) of Sioux Falls and Becky Wensink (David) of Sheboygan Falls; his daughter-in-law Rhonda Arens of Crofton, NE; and his grandchildren, Laurie Yeager (Derrick), Jon Hofer (Michelle), Rachel Brice, Jordan Hofer (Keyanne), Tommy Hofer (Kia), Jaime Lobban (Marlon), Mitchell Hofer (Ann), Michael Hofer, Mariah Weber (Adam), Zach Wensink (Rachel), Sam Wensink (Sarah), Emily Gabrielse (Jonathan) and Joshua Wensink (Kelsey). He is also survived by 27 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First English Lutheran Church (120 E 2nd Ave, Lennox, SD 57039). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Union Gospel Mission of Sioux Falls, Wounded Warrior Project, or Children's Home Society of South Dakota, which were all organizations near and dear to Verlyn's heart.
