Carolyn Rudebusch Obituary

With sadness, we share the passing of Carolyn Rudebusch of Madison, South Dakota. Carolyn, born on December 29, 1936, passed away on October 15, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Carolyn Rudebusch to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Halstead and Marie Halstead (Janssen); her husband Edward Rudebusch; and her sister Doris Groneveld. She is survived by: her daughters, Diane Cross of Madison and Kathy Spotanske (Scott) of Madison; her grandchildren, Jammie (Glen), Adam Spotanske (Heather), John Spotanske (Kelsey), Elizabeth Unzelman (Brian), Brian Mette (Robin) and Robert Mette; and her brother-in-law Orville Groneveld. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A prayer was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 7:00 PM to 7:15 PM at the Rustand-Weiland Funeral Chapel (320 Egan Ave N, Madison, SD 57042). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the United Methodist Church (304 Egan Ave N, Madison, SD 57042).
