Harold leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Harold’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Harold will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Leighton and Margaret Leighton (Bidwell); his wife Janice; his brother David Leighton; his sister-in-law Myrtis; and his daughter-in-law Jarri Leighton.
He is survived by: his children, Jeff Leighton (Grace) of Canoga Park, California, Kevin Leighton (Sandi) of Brookings, Clay Leighton of Madison and Kerri LaFever (Dan) of Boise, Idaho.; and his siblings, Terry Leighton (Janice) of Eagle, Idaho and Audrey Kiser (Paul) of Rio Vista, California.. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Ellsworth Funeral Home (321 Egan Ave N, Madison, SD 57042).
