He was predeceased by: his parents, Marian Howard (Jacobson) and Johnny Howard; and his brothers, Harry Howard, Ron Howard and Bobbie Howard.

He is survived by: his wife Crystal Howard (Graff) of Madison; his daughters, Paula Matthews (Bertt) of Columbia, MO and Jill Howard of Eagan, MN; his grandsons, Blake and Brayden Matthews of Columbia, MO; and his pets, Riley and Griffin. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other family members.
