Sylvia Riedel Obituary
We announce the death of Sylvia Riedel of Madison, South Dakota, who passed away on October 25, 2026, at the age of 89. Sylvia will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Helge Knutsen and Signe Knutsen (Pederson); her husband Robert Riedel; and her brothers, Morris, Homer and Kenneth.
She is survived by: her children, Janice Riedel (Doug Sage) of Cheyenne, Peggy Knight of Cheyenne, Ben Riedel (Deb) of Lexington, TN, Charlie Riedel (Bonnie) of Cheyenne, Steve Riedel (Lane) of Dell Rapids, Glenn Riedel of Sioux Falls and Cathy Anderson (Gregg) of Denver; her grandchildren, Jennifer Prusia (Chris), Michael Riedel (Christine), Jason Riedel, Amber Jahns (Mitch), Lindsey Rubino (Brad), Annie Riedel, Mary Brown (Jerome), Joe Riedel (Payton), Mara Beth Riedel, Jayd Uecker (Joel), Amber Riedel, April Hof, Bryce Anderson and Trevor Anderson; and her sister Beverly Bjerke of Brookings. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Rustand-Weiland Funeral Chapel (320 Egan Ave N, Madison, SD 57042). A memorial service was held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
