With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Viola Sorenson of Madison, South Dakota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 27, 2025 at the age of 88. As Viola departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Viola may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Viola leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Goldhammer and Emma Goldhammer (Pekoske); her husband Robert D. Sorenson of Nunda, SD; and her brother Clarence. She is survived by: her brother Loyd Goldhammer; and her sisters-in-law, Betty and Donna. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
