With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bernadine Carla Rowland (Manderson, South Dakota), born in Rushville, Nebraska, who passed away on July 16, 2025 at the age of 64. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parent Baptiste LaDeaux; her husband Patrick Rowland, Sr.; her son Greg Rowland, Sr.; her siblings, Angela LaDeaux, Antoinette LaDeaux, Eugene LaDeaux, Lawrence Shott, Anthony Tail, Mike Shott, Sr., Patrick Pumpkin Seed and Leon LaDeaux; her uncle Benny LaDeaux; her grandson Kastor Rowland; and her nieces, Amanda Pumpkin Seed and Dawn Janis.
She is survived by: her children, Patrick Rowland, Jr. (Roberta), Alex Rowland, Sr., Jennifer Rowland and Clarissa LaDeaux; her sisters, Cleo No Leaf (John), Lisa Looks Twice (Gordy), Melanie Janis and Phyllis Shott (Chet Steele); her aunt Kathy Janis (Dave); her grandchildren, Kayandra, Xavier, Jordyn, Alaia, Mason-Malone, Mia Dawn, Dayton, Jr., Magazu Steele, Greg, Jetta, Kaizen Rowland, Fancy Rose, Wakinyan Rowland, Patric Backward, Jenna, Jennessa, Lorie, Ira, Annanicole Bernadine, Ryanna, Ryleigh, Patricia, Ryan, Rylan, Ryker Rowland, Alex, Jr. and Alyah Rowland; and her pets, Anna, Rena Rowland, Autumn, Qlani, Dazianna Lone Wolf, Arlena, Cody and Mary Ellen Janis.
A wake was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 4:30 PM and on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Wounded Knee District School (114 Manderson School Rd, Manderson-White Horse Creek, SD 57756). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
