Though Loren may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Loren touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Abernathy and Vivian Abernathy; his daughter Rebecca Abernathy; and his sister Beth Walz. He is survived by: his wife Linda Abernathy; his children, Andrea Abernathy (Jacob Fields) and Phillip Abernathy; his stepmother Sharon Abernathy; and his siblings, Yvonne Holter, Rachel Woelfel (Damien), Diana Lipford and Edward Merchen (Sherri).
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 7:00 PM and on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (802 1st Ave, Martin, SD 57551).
