He is survived by: his wife Donna Berndt; his sons, Thomas (Summer), Menno and Kent (Tracy); his grandchildren, Brayden Sattler, Bryce Sattler, Branson Sattler, Kellen Sattler, Klayton Sattler, Kolt Sattler, Skyler Heckenlaible and Grace Heckenlaible; his brother Robert Sattler (Parker); and his siblings-in-law, LeRoy Berndt of Sioux Falls, Roger Berndt of Sioux Falls and Gladys Talsma (John). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
