He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Gesswein and Wylah Gesswein (Shaw). He is survived by: his wife Sue Dornbusch Heilman of Milbank, SD; his sons, Kevin Heilman (Kelly) of Tucson, AZ, Tim Heilman of Watertown, SD and James "Jimmy" Gesswein of Milbank, SD; and his brothers, Art Gesswein of Shakopee, MN and John Gesswein (Judy) of Milbank, SD. He is also survived by step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 9:30 AM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Emanuel Lutheran Church (701 S 1st St, Milbank, SD 57252).
