He is survived by: his mother Barbara Warkenthien (Pommer) of Willow Lake; his wife Darla Willman; his children, Andy VanDenOever (Ashley) of Huron, SD, Rebecca Grassel (Jared) of Woonsocket, SD, Ashley Moe (Jonathan) of Atlantic, IA, Alex Warkenthien (Aaron Earl) of Sioux Falls, SD, Adam VanDenOever and Eric Warkenthien (Shelby) of Brookings, SD; his grandchildren, Micah, Taylor, Rylan (Makenzie), Jalyn, Jocelyn, Evan, Aiden, Brody and Harper; his sister Laurie Nelson of Sioux Falls, SD; his siblings-in-law, Karla Hall (Kurt) of Faulkton, SD, Rod Willman of Rapid City, SD and Randy Willman (Linda) of Wessington Springs, SD; and his close friend Tim Holzwarth of Mitchell, SD. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, coworkers, and countless friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Miller Community Center (526 N Broadway, Miller, SD 57362). A prayer was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
