He was predeceased by: his parents, Norbert Zens and Alfreda Zens (Faust); his wife Dorothy Marie Wangsness (Dottie) of Ann's Catholic Church; his son Roger Zens, Jr.; his parents-in-law, Henry and Dorothy Wangsness; and his stepsister Sharla Worthen.
He is survived by: his close friend JoAnn Morford; his daughter Gina Savey (Les); his daughter-in-law Joann Dummer; his granddaughter Alicia Mattke (Luke, family: Harper Spilde, Ella, Jesse Mattke); his stepsiblings, Daryl Schmidt (Sandy) and Mavis Johnson; and his siblings-in-law, Rose Fawcett, Harriet Chipman (Dwane), Sharon Vitters, Mark Wangsness (Diane) and Jerry Wangsness (Louise). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, Roger requested memorials be directed to St. Ann's Cemetery Care Fund, 709 E 4th St, Miller, SD 57362.
