He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Mayer and Clara Mayer (Ebersdorfer); his wife Arleen Mayer; his sons, Darrell Mayer and Peter (Clara Mayer); and his siblings, James, Harvey, William (Bill), Louis, Peter, Regina Parker (Toots), Delores Hafner, Clara Novachich (Sherri), Adeline Heisinger and Jean Shipman.
He is survived by: his children, Charlene Scott of Lewis Center, OH, David Mayer of Columbus, OH, Glen Mayer of Reynoldsburg, OH and Timothy Mayer (Peggy) of Deming, NM; and his siblings, Daniel Mayer (Shirley), Sister Janice "Nett" Mayer and Florence Rokusek. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
