He was predeceased by : his parents, Edwin Olson and Virginia Olson (McCleary). He is survived by : his wife Diane; his children, Jeff Olson (Jennifer Conway), Libby Olson (Mike Blaalid) and Andrew Olson (Rachel); his grandchildren, Oliver Blaalid, Hazel Blaalid, Thea Blaalid, James Olson and Raven Olson; his siblings, Deb Olson and Jeff Olson; and his stepmother Sona Olson.
