He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Jr. Artz and Marion Artz (Roberts); his siblings, Edward Artz, Caroline Domke, Mildred Niewenhuis and Barb Wieczorek; and his siblings-in-law, Ben Domke, Alden Niewenhuis, Robert Wieczorek, Rodney Safar, Mary Lee Podhradsky, Wanda Artz, Evelyn Artz and Brenda Safar.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon (Safar); his daughters, Rhonda Punt (LaWayne) of Sioux Falls, SD, Lisa Anderson (Carl) of Aberdeen, SD and Stacey Niewenhuis (Brandon) of Brandon, SD; his grandchildren, Jordan Punt (Chandi), Tyler Punt (Hannah), Garrett Gross (Jailey), Tanner Niewenhuis (Danica) and Tristan Niewenhuis; his stepgrandson Jaron Anderson (Kasey); his great grandchildren, Renner, Brecken, Cormac and Arthur Punt; his siblings, David Artz Sr. and Donna Vreugdenhil (Larry); and his siblings-in-law, Marilyn Bloemendaal (Curt), Glenda Hohn (Safar) and Roger Safar.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church (103 N 6th St, Stickney, SD 57375). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location.
