He is survived by: his children, Serina Nuese (Adam) of Brandon, SD and Neal Hiemstra (Karisa) of Woonsocket, SD; his grandchildren, Kapri Hiemstra, Hasten Hiemstra, Shay Nuese and Quinn Nuese; and his siblings, Delbert Hiemstra (DeAnna) of Nampa, Norma Tuttle of Mitchell, SD, Beverly Spelbring (Rodney) of Gillette, WY, Darla Kjelden of Sioux Falls, SD, Dennis Hiemstra (Vickie) of Mitchell, SD and Bryant Hiemstra of Woonsocket, SD. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
