He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Kippes and Joan Kippes (Anfang); his wife Betty (Neugebauer) of Martin's Lutheran Church; his father-in-law Ralph Neugebauer; his siblings-in-law, Gregg "Chip" Lee and Jan Neugebauer; and his sibling's children, Ted Curry, Joel Neugebauer and Karli Dietrich.
He is survived by: his children, Toby Kippes of Mitchell, Robert Kippes (Melissa) of Parker, SD and Emily Harvin (James) of Aurora, CO; his siblings, Carol Michaels of Victoria, MN, Patty Curry (Tom) of Elk Point, SD, Joe Kippes (Barb) of Mitchell, Kathy Haiar (Terry) of Alexandria, SD, Dotty Schroeder (Mark) of Alexandria, SD, Susie Lucibella (Denny) of Citrus Heights, CA and Annie Dietrich (Dan) of Edgewater, FL; and his friend Jennifer Chance.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Prayer Service Bittner Funeral Chapel (805 W Havens Ave, Mitchell, SD 57301). A prayer was held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (222 N Kimball St, Mitchell, SD 57301).
