He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilhelm Gerlach and Alvina Gerlach (Burmeister); his daughter Diana Hohn; his sisters, Esther (Alfred Hohn), Anita (Norman Beiswanger) and Irene Gerlach; and his siblings-in-law, Kay Ronspies, Leland Triebwasser, Richard Mills and Paul Ronspies.
He is survived by: his wife Charlene Gerlach; his children, Lisa Brouwer (David), Julie Flemmer (Kevin), Dana Hettinger (Gary), Chad, Brad Gerlach and Jim Hohn; his sister Wilma Triebwasser; his grandchildren, Trevor Flemmer (Coryn), Trisha Hanson (Alek), Brooke Flemmer, Cody, Caleb, Carson Brouwer, Alyssa Hettinger (Zach Woldruff), Logan Hettinger, Devon Schoepf and Dillon Phillips; his great grandchild Hayes Hanson; and his sisters-in-law, Bonnie Prince and LaVonne Mills.
