He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Hanson (Hopland) and Alfred H. Hanson; and his siblings, Mabel Schlomer (Charlie), Hilma Walters (Kenneth), Myrtle Schlomer (Henry), Vivian Schlomer (Richard), Violet Espeland (Earl), Agnes Schlomer (Gerhart), Arnold Hanson (Helen) and Vernon Hanson.
He is survived by: his wife Dawn Janette Prasek; his children, Linda (Kent Meyer) of Pollock, SD, Lori (John Stronach) of Hockley, TX and Lynn (Laura Hanson) of Mina Lake, SD; his grandchildren, Jennifer Van Beek (Levi), Jessica Feist (Todd), Lance Voller, Devan Voller (Stacy) and Marshall Hanson (Claire Backes); his great grandchildren, Hank, Archie, Ella Van Beek, Aria, Layla Voller and Lexi Voller; his sister Jennie Carlson (Hanson) of Reno, Nevada; and his sister-in-law Josey Hanson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
