We are sad to announce that on October 7, 2023 we had to say goodbye to Lon Lyman of Murdo, South Dakota, born in Denver, Colorado. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Lyn Lyman and Dorothee Lyman (Collins). He is survived by : his wife Susan Iversen of Murdo; his daughter Lona Sims of Sarasota, Florida; his grandchildren, Alec Riehemann (Belle), Candace Riehemann and Ryan Sims; his great grandchild Adelyn Riehemann; his stepchildren, Nathan Barnes (Carrie) of Piedmont and Kristen Aske (Dustin) of Murdo; and his stepgrandchildren, Connor, Graden, Adley Barnes, BreAna, Breckin and Bowden Aske. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to the Jones County Booster Club, the Jones County Community Foundation, and the Murdo Ambulance.

“To the family of Lon Lyman, I send my greetings to you from Santa Fe, New Mexico. I knew Lon when we were children. I was just a few months older than him. Our family visited his family ranch several times. But we moved to Oregon when I was 14, and I never saw Lon again. I was amazed to see that he had taught at Okaton School--that's where I did grades 1-8. I wish I had known him throughout the years. But I send you my best. God bless.
