It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bob Gerkin of Nisland, South Dakota, born in Denver, Colorado, who passed away on October 28, 2022, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Gerkin and Peggy Gerkin (Woodard); and his parents-in-law, Ted and Darlene Speidel. He is survived by: his son Jonathan (Rachel) of Nisland; his wife Susan Speidel of Nisland; his daughter Jennifer Tuomela (Chad) of Gillette, WY; his grandchildren, Taiton LaPlante (Kirstie), Wyatt Kline, Jett Kline, Kaedon Tuomela and Arissa Tuomela; his great grandchild Swayde Rose LaPlante; and his siblings, Oliver (Joan) of Belle Fourche, Dave (Joy) of Roseburg, OR, Myrna Stuefen of Sioux Falls and Dixie Garman (Wayne) of Sundance, WY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
