He was predeceased by : his parents, Ruth Gross (Fliginger) and Alfred Gross; his son Kelly; his brother Darrol; his siblings-in-law, Jim, Jack Sherard, Evelyn Sherard, Geraldine Lee Merritt and Viola Sherard; and his in-laws, Eula (Piper) and Clarence Sherard.

He is survived by : his children, Kevin (Barb) and Kristy (Dennis Kautz); his wife JoAnn Sherard; his grandchildren, Nicole, Josh Anderson, Matt, Missy Gross, Amanda, Drew Swartz, Justin and Mallory Kautz; his great grandchildren, Sadie, Reese and Mason Gross; and his grandchildren, Asher, Lincoln Anderson, Chamberlyn, Levi and Boston Swartz.
