He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Richard and Leona Ehler (Hamann); his wife Rheta Nahnsen; his daughter Mary Sue; his in-laws, Leo and Martha Nahnsen; and his brother-in-law Gordon Nahnsen.
He is survived by: his children, Linn Ehler-Koontz (Kevin) of Coppell, TX, Jeri Ehler of Parkston, Scott Ehler (Phyllis) of Parkston and Marc Ehler (Kim) of Parkston; and his grandchildren, Sean, Aaron, Kacee and Matthew.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Faith Lutheran Church (201 W Cherry St, Parkston, SD 57366). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
