He was predeceased by : his parents, Albert Sr. Werning and Hildegard Werning (Guericke); his wife Marcella Winter; his siblings, Arthur Werning, Elma (Harold Huber), Marvin Werning and Albert Werning Jr.; and his sisters-in-law, Anita Winter and Geneva (Ervin Winter).

He is survived by : his children, David Werning (Emery), Lois Werning of Parkston and Denise Werning of Parkston; and his sisters-in-law, Hilda Werning, Alvina Werning and Linda Werning.
