He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Ainslie and Reland Ainslie (Carson); his children, Jerry and Karla; and his siblings, Martin, Jim, Bob, Frank, Lila Marie, Barbara and MaryEllen.

He is survived by: his wife Kay Stephenson; his daughters, Diane Walker (Gary), Cheryl Behrend and Marlene Scheessele; and his siblings-in-law, Pat Hart, Gary Stephenson, Joan Patton, Arlene Ingersol (Bob) and Sue Koepp (Darwin). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the Philip school.
