He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Olson and Edith Olson (Huston); his wife JoAnne Bistodeau; his daughters, Christie Sattler and Kay Janisch; his great grandchild Reese Fischer; and his brothers, Russell Olson, Robert Olson and William Olson.
He is survived by: his children, Tom Olson (Sara) of Billings, MT and Diane Gaikowski (Leon) of Webster, SD; his son-in-law Joe Janisch of Watertown, SD; and his siblings, Magnus Olson of Brookings, SD, Alice Anderson (Don) of Sioux Falls, SD and Julia Hagen of Indianola, IA. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
