He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl A. Clausen and Viola Clausen (Goudy); his sister Lila; his brother-in-law Don VanCleave; and his son-in-law Mark Brotherston.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Clausen; his children, Lori Brotherston of Alabama, Joetta Schneider (Bill) of Florida, Carl Wade Clausen (Kim) of West Virginia, Bryan Clausen (Tammy) of Texas and Sylvia Blanton of California; and his siblings, Dave Clausen (Lorraine) of Harrold and Alean Thomas (Bill) of Washington. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The military honors was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Black Hills National Cemetery (20901 Pleasant Valley Dr, Sturgis, SD 57785).
