He is survived by: his wife Glenys G. Valtr; his sons, Jeremy Holter (Julie) and Nathan Holter (Katherine) of Berthold; his stepchildren, Roger Valtr (Dawn) of San Antonio, Texas and Loraine Waller of Brookings; his son-in-law Rollie Borth; and his sisters, Susan Watson of Sandy and Tammy Ryberg of Bowbells. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
