He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Hunsley and Eleanor Hunsley (Anderson); his brothers, Donald Hunsley and Leonard Hunsley; his sister-in-law Nancy Hunsley; his granddaughter Olivia Pierson; his parents-in-law, Bill and Catherine Opbroek; his brothers-in-law, Steven Opbroek and Chuck Kohler; and his nephews, Jeff and Scott.

He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Deborah, Dawn, Darleen, Daisy, David and Derek; his wife Diana Opbroek; his children, Deborah Hunsley Vinge, Dawn Busch (Mike), Darleen Bothwell (Shane), Daisy Pierson (Travis), David Hunsley (Stacy) and Derek Hunsley (Michelle); his siblings, Lilla May Hunsley, Lavern Hunsley (Georgia), Raymond Hunsley (Lynne), Dale Hunsley (Kathy) and Mark Hunsley (Betty); and his sisters-in-law, Cora Hunsley, Karen Kusler (Barry), Joan Patience (Matthew) and Jean Shay (Ken). He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

In Lieu of flowers the family wishes donations be made to St. Joseph School (210 E. Broadway, Pierre SD 57501).
