He was predeceased by: his parents, Dolores Pohlman and Willard Pohlman of Catherine's Hospital; his brother Fred; and his siblings-in-law, Phyllis Pohlman, Steve Gorelik Jr. and Dennis Chiappetta.
He is survived by: his wife Connie; his children, John II (Stacey) of Sioux Falls, SD, Steve "JD", Pierre and Cathy of Aurora, CO; his grandchildren, Jennifer Mammenga, Jordan Pohlman (Chris Demastes) of Colorado Springs, CO, Jaycie Pohlman, Liam Pohlman, Pierre, Greta Pohlman of Vermillion, SD, Rex Koch and Zoe Koch; his great grandchildren, Sloane Mammenga and Wilson Mammenga; and his siblings, Sandy Chiappetta of Manalapan, NJ, Patricia Gorelik of Falls Church, VA and Gary Pohlman (Linda) of Lake Villa, IL. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the American Legion (520 S Pierre St, Pierre, SD 57501).
