Karen Day Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Karen Day (Pierre, South Dakota), who passed away on January 13, 2026 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Ludwig (Onida) and Hazel Ludwig; her husbands, Joe Day and Al Whiting; her brothers, Newel and Martin Ludwig; her nephew Troy Thomas; and her nieces, Taylor Thomas and Alene Stotz.
She is survived by: her children, Dana Day of Olympia, WA, Douglas Day (Dawn) of Fort Pierre, SD and Derek Day (Tauni) of San Antonio, TX; her sister Kay Thomas (Harry) of Harrold, SD; her grandson Brandon Day (Kristine) of Pierre, SD; her great grandchildren, Dallys, Bryson, Sharon Day and Etienne Kretly; and her grandchildren, Cooper Day, Lawson and Brody Day of San Antonio, TX. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
