He was predeceased by: his parents, Judd Thompson and Rosa Thompson (Klappal); his wife Alvena Dreier; his brother Eugene; and his grandson Cole.
He is survived by: his children, Todd, Trent (Mary) and Michaela Novak (Jakeb); his grandchildren, LeighAnn Dees (Paul), Mischelle Sutphin (Chandler), Graham and Miles Novak; and his great grandchild Joanna Sutphin.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Feigum Funeral Home (808 W Pleasant Dr, Pierre, SD 57501).
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be directed to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
