He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Zimiga (Wildene) and Louise Zimiga (DuBray); and his brother Robert Eugene Zimiga. He is survived by: his wife Kathy LaBonte (Kay (Krause) Zimiga); his brother Charles Zimiga (Carolyn); his sons, Andre Zimiga (Anne) of Fargo, ND and Austin Zimiga of Hot Springs, SD; and his grandchildren, Ashley Zimiga, Alec Zimiga, Arri Jr. Zimiga, Mason Nielsen, Tristan Nielsen, Amber Zimiga, Kendra Nielsen, Micah DeKrey and Maddox Nielsen.

A wake will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Rimrock Community Center (12270 SD-44, Rapid City, SD 57770). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Black Hills National Cemetery (20901 Pleasant Valley Dr, Sturgis, SD 57785).
