He was predeceased by: his father Arthur Adam Chips; his siblings, Elizabeth Agnes Chips, Phyllis Wilcox, Leroy, Jason and Warren Wilcox; and his grandparents, Agnes and Elmer Red Elk.

He is survived by: his mother Julia Fern Wilcox (Milk) of Wanblee, SD; his siblings, Floyd, Lloyd, Harlan, Troy, Michelle, Cora, Bonnie, Rosalie Deese, Florine Chips, Gloria, Virgil, Maxine and Bernadine; his son Gabriel Levi Chips of Minnesota; his brother Denal Chips; and his niece Leah Joeckel.
