He was predeceased by: his parents, Fletcher Wal and Gertrude Vander Wal; his grandparents, Karl, Carrie Vander Wal, Samuel Daniel and Cleora Simpson; and his brother-in-law Donald Larson (Don).
He is survived by: his significant other Bernice Louise Boone of New Philadelphia, Ohio.; his children, Laura Jean of Bismarck, Robert Fletcher (Landa) of Dickinson and William Warren (Lyndsi) of Fargo; his grandchildren, Daniel Olson, Aaron Vander Wal, Shawn Vander Wal, Alyssa Olson and Abigail Olson; and his sisters, Susan Lidstone (Doug) of Minneapolis, Velma Van Vugt (Leroy) of Omaha, Pat Larson of Pollock, Carol Larson (Harlow) of Pollock, Louise Acheson (Wade) of Mobridge and Betty Dyk (Duane) of Strasburg.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Spring Valley Cemetery.
