Pat Madsen Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Pat Madsen of Presho, South Dakota, who passed away on April 21, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William A. Jones and Helen Rose Durkin (Teeter); her sister Mickey Neuman; her children, Patrick and Carmen; her in-laws, Esther and John "Chris" Madsen; and her brothers-in-law, Durward and Bruce.

She is survived by: her husband Chris W. Madsen; her children, Christine Olson (Jim) of Ft. Pierre, Kelly Madsen (Teresa) of Ft. Pierre, Willie Madsen of Presho, Kimm Schweitzer (Ron) of Presho and Michael Shane Madsen of Presho; her sister Kathy Ling (Dave) of Rifle, CO.; and her grandchildren, Stormie Madsen, Jami Larson, Patrick Olson, Andrew Madsen, Dylan Madsen, Ryder Schweitzer, Mariah Hoelscher, Kateri McManus, Maleah Tuttle, Briar Rose Schweitzer, Clare Madsen, Jameson Madsen and Reva Madsen. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A procession was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Hickey Funeral Home (215 S Main St, Chamberlain, SD 57325). Visitation was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (104 Gall St, Lower Brule, SD 57548). A wake was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
