She was predeceased by : her parents, Charles Luckhurst (August) and Mabel Engebretson Luckhurst; her husband Dean Everson; her son William Charles; her siblings, Mercedes Rider, Geraldine Swanson, Keith Luckhurst and Khoy Luckhurst; her sister-in-law Barb Everson; and her son-in-law Robert Preston.

She is survived by : her children, Krista Preston, Kimberley Kringen (Robert) and Douglas Everson (Mary) of Rapid City; her grandchildren, Berit Preston, James Preston (Ashley), Adrianne Everson (Daniel Dorcey), Aubrey Kringen (Zachary Powers), Elise Everson and William Everson; her great grandchildren, Harper, Henry and Charlotte; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Kaija and Dane; her brother-in-law Don Everson; and her pet Misty. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial has been established in Charlyne's name for The Literacy Council of the Black Hills.
